"The 2014 Richebourg Grand Cru comes from the domaine's 0.31-hectares of 40- to 60-year-old vine and matured in 100% new oak with 100% whole bunch. It has a deep and broody bouquet at first, plenty of damp undergrowth scents infusing the dark plum and raspberry fruit. The palate has a lot of grip on the entry, a sturdy backbone here, dark berry fruit mixed with saline notes, focused and quite firm on the finish. Give this several years in bottle like the Grands Echézeaux. I am intrigued to see which of these two grand crus ultimately comes out on top."
