"Darnaud's smallest-production wine is his 2017 Saint Joseph Blanc, a 100% barrel-fermented Marsanne grown on granite. Crushed stones and pencil shavings mark the nose of this super wine, which is tighter and richer than Darnaud's white Crozes. Full-bodied, layered and silky, with a nearly endless finish, this is great Marsanne that should drink well for at least 3-4 years, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it behave like a mini-Hermitage and have a rebirth 10 years out."
