"Dense ruby color. Powerful, expressive aromas of cherry preserves, wild strawberry, plum, pipe tobacco, Asian spices and licorice pastille. Almost exaggerated in its expression of cherry in every form imaginable: griotte, jammy, candied, medicinal. Lush and thick but enlivened by tangy, redder fruit qualities, as well as by a strong note of iodine. This has remarkable intensity, balance and depth, finishing with a vibrant note of candied violet and silky tannins."

"The 2004 Cote Rotie La Turque exhibits hints of green pepper and bouquet garni intermixed with notions of graphite, blackberries, cherries, and smoky beef. A denser, more tannic, and structured effort than La Mouline, La Turque will benefit from another year or two of bottle age. It should keep for 10-15 years."
