"The 2014 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Malconsorts has a precise, stony, quite intense bouquet with blackberry and raspberry aromas that are very pure. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe red cherry, raspberry and blueberry fruit, just a touch of spice, long with blood orange on the finish. This is an outstanding Malconsorts that has a long and prosperous future ahead."

"The reticent but attractively fresh nose grudgingly offers up notes of spice, floral elements, smoke, Asian-style tea and a mélange of red and blue pinot fruit aromas. The palate impression is quite rich with plenty of dry extract that buffers the ripe but markedly firm tannins, all wrapped in an intensely mineral-driven and hugely long finish. This overtly muscular and moderately austere effort is going to need a long snooze in a cool cellar."
